Got to the range early this morning to try out the NOE bullet. Only at 50 yards.. Had to seat them deep to get them to chamber.. can't post pic.

I have same mold only cast/loaded a few. So far all lino or very hard and thin powder coat. But no issues in my 243's or 6mm Rem seating to driving band into rifling.

Size them to your .244 size then Coat them but don't resize! You probably will then get .246"out of the PC That is the magic number! Then Those groups with really close up! , Seriously! But you will need less powder. start at your lowest load first!

That long? Seem like it wouldn't even be in the case. Driving bands in the rifling??
That is going to vary drastically between rifles. What might be possible in his rifle might not be in yours and mine may be different than both of you guys guns.

Keep in mind also that your groups look like they closed up as you applied more pressure. Thats dynamic fit coming into play. You are changing the bullet more with more pressure and the rifle likes it. FIT! The caveat is that when you change any of the many parts of the fit, you may/may not see a change in group size. It's a balancing act where you WRITE DOWN everything you do and only change one thing at a time so you know shat was good or bad. Yes, it can drive you bonkers. Yes, it's not simple. But you are seeing good results, so IMO it's worth the hassle. You just happened to pick a particularly persnickety cartridge/rifle combo to play with.

Keep the faith brudda! You're getting there!

That's a good bullet, but it doesn't look like it will hold much lube. Maybe it doesn't need much. I was thinking about trying lee liquid alox just to see instead of the powder coat. Reason being,I could seat them out farther.. what do you think...

That's the way I was going to do it. This damn weather is keeping me from the range. I've got about 30 rounds loaded, including the loverin's.

I would recommend Ben's Liquid Lube (BLL) instead of straight LLA as a tumble lube. When BLL is applied correctly it is dry, non-sticky and the next thing to powder coating, in my opinion.

The Lee Mule Snot can work, this I know for certain. It can also make a mess if you over do things. I hear good things on BLL, but haven't used it. Some folks have cut the Mule Snot with mineral spirits to get a lighter coat. In many rifles you don't need near the lube you'd think. But! It takes bench time to figure out if yours is one of them.

if you wanna try with what you have loaded.
rub some lanolin between your thumb and finger then smear it on the nose of the bullet.
kind of like putting that case sizing wax on a case.

i umm use that 'technique' with bore ride bullets that engrave the rifling .001 or more.
it's helped shrink groups 99 times out of 100.
