Dipping is how I've used it, works fine, I loaded it to 1800 FPS or thereabouts with no issues using liquid alox.

Also did a plain base version of the RD that ran good with 2400 @ 1700 fps., just removed most of the GC shank. IIRC the original I had was done by Micheal, he removed the GC shank on half of them. I posted this before but shot a (dead) 150ish # hog, gut and shoulder with the RD, pass through in gut but not shoulder. Plenty good for deer or hog. I did find the accuracy in mine increased when I put a 041 style nose on it (kinda partial nose size). Allowed better bore alignment in my rifle. Was about a 1/10" parallel section of the ogive that allowed closer to lands without jamming. Back then I was playing with a lot of alloy and unique loads but Larry G got me into 2400 that worked much better. Now tinkering with WSF.
