A near perfect short range bullet for the 30-30 Win.
Sort of turns the 30-30 in the Ruger # 1 into a 32-20.
We shoot these at about 1,100 fps.
My grandson will shoot these all day long.
Oh, at 123 grs. did I mention the 311008 is easy on the lead stash ?

The 3118 was the first thing I ever cast. For my savage 24 3030/20ga.

few grains of trailboss and as they say, bobs yer uncle.

Also have had wonderful results out of 30-06 with the 3118. Also trailboss. 7-8 grains.

Good shooting, nice rifle and bullet!
It is very pleasing when you find a load that shoots well, with minimal component consumption. I’ve had my eye on the 311008 for a while, I have been considering a 4-5 cav mould with the Arsenal moulds version. I find it difficult to feed my rifles with 2-cav moulds :)

Ben, your post from a long time ago. Years probably, got me on the hunt for a 008.
The 008, and a saeco 630 are just now on my bench waiting to get loaded.
Was a going to try bulls eye or unique. I do have some t.b. also.

All of my 32/20s have had iron sights--rifles and revolvers. I have never scoped a rifle so chambered, and none have grouped bullets so closely. I have missed out, literally and figuratively.

A 115-125 grain 30/31 caliber bullet moving along at 1100 FPS can be a very effective tool to use on small and medium game and varmints. Heck, 900 FPS from a revolver does impressive work as well. It might fall a little short as a venison harvester or as felon repellent, but I'm sure it has had successful usage in both venues in the past. I long ago lost count of the jackrabbits I've tumbled with the 32/20 from both rifles and revolvers. It is absolutely just right for those tough hares to 100 yards.

Any of the 3 you've listed may have great potential for you.

Like we've discussed before. In this day of " Magnum Mania ", there is still a place for bullets like this at 1,100 fps.

I recently had good luck with 6.5 B'Eye in my break open CVA 30-06.
I was shooting the 93 gr. Tumble lube .311 Lee Bullet.
I'm going to try the same powder charge with the 311008 sized .311"
in the CVA Break Open . My CVA may not look like an accurate rifle, but it will shoot with just about any of my other 30-06 rifles.

I'll try 20 rounds and we'll see how the 311008 shoots ?
