The Greenhill Formula was an artillery application for large caliber rounds moving in the 1000 fps area. More velocity is more rpm and thus we get to fudge alot with small caliber "too long" cast.
Hand loaders have been loading 300 grain + in old slow twist rifles for as long as I have as I read it somewhere.

I’m using the 265 RD also , pretty happy with it all around my Marlins and Smiths, can’t say the same for the River 77/44. I can get minute of deer / beaver accuracy, but head shooting a rabbit is pure luck. Love the rifle as a trap line gun, so keep it around. Advice I received is to go with a lighter bullet, and I already have the 200 grain Lee for a .44 Spl project on my to do list.
