About 20 years ago one of our local pawnbrokers tried to tempt me with a Colt Single Action x 4.75" in 41 Colt. "Yes indeed, Pilgrim--YOU can be the proud new owner of this rare example in a very rare caliber for only $1900 (in 2003 money). Such a deal--NOT. BLANKing shark.
Yes--brass could be had. Mould? Maybe. Didn't (and still doesn't) matter--a Blackhawk x 4-5/8" is stronger, cheaper, and much easier to load for. Fuggetaboutit.
Those of us in this hobby do more than our share of arcane and off-the-wall stuff in pursuit of our various passions. Outside lubrication and stab-crimps aren't in my DNA.
