Well, after repairing a bad wire in my ancient toaster oven (bought it in 1969 for college), and verifying
that I could get the temps needed and that the PID was OK with it, I dumped some powder into a Betty
Crocker frosting container and about 45 count of Lee 125 LBT style .38s. Swirled, shook, tumbled, rolled,
gently and not gently, looking several times. I was not impressed with the uniformity of the coating. It
rained this AM, I ran the AC in the shop for a few hours in advance and had not opened the powder until
just before use. Baked 400F for 20 min, as per Eastwood recommendation. Not impressed with the results
as far as appearance. They probably are usable, enough coating to act as lube.
Need to get some airsoft BBs to add. Also, maybe do the application in the house, which has been
dehumidifying for the whole summer, not the humid shop, only on AC for a few hours.
Bleah.
Some of the splotchiness is the nature of the poppin silver which is silver and black, but a lot of it
is bad coverage. Even with perfect coverage, the two colors are blended, zones of black and silver.
The good news is that I haven't used the cane today, been walking back and forth between shop and
house, really feeling very stable today, very comfortable walking, no sense of less than normal stability.
Still sore, hurt like heck last night after my home PT workout, finally had to try some tramadol this AM..
Went back to tylenol at lunch.
