Custom Bullet Molds for Snider Enfield and Matrini Henry Rifles and others

I just thought that I would share some information about a small mold maker that I came across by chance in England.

I have quite a lot of British Service rifles that I load for with cast bullets including the Sniders and Martini Henrys. For many years I sought to find someone who could replicate the actual bullets that were used in these fine old rifles as near as possible to their original specifications including their hollow bases. I have many different molds for the above but only the Higginbottom ones perform true to the original and I obtain excellent groups with them using Swiss 1 1/2 powder.

For the Snider mold for a little extra cost he will make you two base plugs a shallow one for the 5 groove two band Snider and a deeper one for the slower twist 3 groove Snider and each one you can use with the same mold. Also for the Snider I ordered a .590" cutter to cut my bullets out from the lube panand smoothe out any iregularities in the soft lead cast bullets.

Well Chares Higginbottom from 48 Rugby Road, Milverton, Leamington Spa, Warwickshire CV32 6DG. England. Phone # (0) 1926-887814 is just the man. His molds are excellent and good value at 90 pounds each, are fully hardened made of steel and accept commercially made mold handles.

Charles is old fashioned and does not have a web site or internet so if you would like a mold made for the above then give him a call and he will make you a mold or molds to special order.

Hope this is helpful and he can make hollow base or conventional molds for any other old guns that you are having trouble getting made.
