Drill press on the way

Yes, Keith, I keep a one legged visegrip hold down by my drill press. I sent a link to Brad
on that, a good tool. And a drill press vise, too.

I have all the power wood and metal machines, radial arm saw, shaper, couple of grinders, lathe,
mill, couple of drill presses, chop saw, table saw, planer, all sorts of hand stuff, and it ALL gets
respect. So far, no injuries. Worst I ever did was with a 26 oz framing hammer. That will
really wreck a thumb, even with a edger hit and a part power hit. Still got the scar from that,
but the thumb works fine, than goodness.

Amen on power tool safety. I wear chaps and steel toes boots when chainsawing. I saw my
father cut through the toe of his boot with a chainsaw. He shut it off, looked at me, I looked
at him, and no blood spurted out. I asked if it had hit, he said he didn't think so, but not
certain. Pulled off the heavy leather boot, and there was a hole in the sock, too, but no
red stuff. Peeled off the holed sock, not a touch of the skin. That is as close as it gets.
I do steel toes always with the chainsaw, and the chaps, too, will stop the chain.

Brad, I just realized --- you are getting a drill press and Ian got a lathe, some sort of world symmetry there, I think. :p

Yeah, and we each have one daughter. Difference is his is all grown up and making something of herself, and Brad's tools are an order of magnitude higher quality than mine....but I'm younger and more handsome and have a much bigger shop so it balances out

Ian also has a patience with this stuff I lack. Maybe it is less patience and more a need for a level or precision bordering on OCD?

Whatever it is we are both happy and doing what we enjoy!

And my kid could eat his for lunch.

It would be a light lunch at the moment!

I'll see your OCD and raise you Asperger's :p
