There sure seems to be a lot of good press about Tikka rifles lately. Might have to look into one when I'm in the market for a new rifle.

Tikka is a subset of SAKO and SAKO is now owned by Beretta. In fact, the Beretta holding group now owns a big chunk of European arms makers and other firearms related industries.

Finland has a long history of producing quality firearms, particularly rifles. SAKO has really mastered the art of high quality at a reasonable cost.

The adoption on the C19 rifle by the Canadian Rangers is a strong endorsement of the Tikka brand. The C19 is a licensed built version of the Tikka T3. The C19 is manufactured by Colt Canada (a Canadian subsidiary of Colt and Colt is now owned by CZ- try to get your head around all of that :D ) In any event, the Tikka line of SAKO rifles appears to be a lot of quality for the money.

A Finnish company, owned by an Italian company, licensed a design to a Canadian company, that is a subsidiary of an American company that is owned by a Czech company, to make a rifle. That rifle is used by a force largely comprised of Inuit and First Nation people that work for a government that operates with official languages that include English and French.

Got It?

Ever since CZ updated their line and dropped the 527, the Tikka and Sako rifles suddenly became my favorites.

The T3 and T3x are so simple, elegant, and flawlessly executed as to be simply boring in their perfection. There is not one, single tool mark anywhere on any surface of my T3.
