Sticker shock when I checked on some component pricing! It looks like the gold ones are all that gets stocked, still looking for the copper ones. Five cents per bullet adds up fast Todays net search will start with Ben's plain base wisdom and spread out from there.

I'm Canadian and some report that exporting is not allowed from the USA. I'm checking that out.

I'll be contacting Sage to check on their policy regarding shipping north. The $20 US to Canada$ would come out around $27 C add 5% tax, shipping, maybe a broker fee that is still an outstanding savings!

Talk about a time to get a check maker and some flashing!

Only thing in Canada that isn't more expensive than in the US is snow.

we had some pretty expensive snow this last winter and spring.
on the plus side I did get to shoot out of the canoe down at the range.
I dropped a note to Josh on another site.
he might be able to flat rate you some copper washers.

Thank you all. I'm not buying yet just researching. To put it into perspective I just celebrated 60 weeks of continuous chemo. My plan is to cast clean ingots this fall and then start casting bullets.

My original plan was to focus my learning curve by choosing a single rifle (no handguns), buy or alloy quality lead, acquire custom moulds, gas checking, and holding the velocity in a 1500-1700 range. My rifle choice is a real nice 1950s peep sighted Win 94 in 32 Special. The rifle was bought for its 16" twist. It seemed as good a setup for success as any. Now I'm adding plain base to the possible list.

I have a 32 Rem basically a rimless sister , straightened case Weatherby shoulder , discontinued in 1935 .......
It shoot plain base very well and with I4350 will match jacketed loads in every respect . It was very easy to get a winning load with it .

That long neck has to be the key .

When I help newbs get started it is with handguns. Nothing easier to learn on.

Hope your almost done with the chemo, that stuff is hard on ya. I remember my fil' s experience with it. He would feel as if his fingers were freezing & be wearing gloves when 80°f outside. That was some years back & he is doing well.

I've been using checks from Josh. They work.

At 40-50 bucks a 1000 , about 4,500 checks would pay for a free chex or Pat Marlins check maker ........ I hope I got that right I'm pretty sure they are 2 different sets .......

I've shot most of the calibers I have PB or naked at some point .

On the "Cast Boolits" site there is a guy posting as "Blammer" who sells Gator gas-checks. Reasonable prices and ships to Canada. No problems shipping here to Kamloops BC via USPS.

I use Josh's Cu GCs, good quality & work well in 30/30. Haven't tried them in 308 yet, saving the hornady ones for top end loads.

Sept. 10, 2021 Steve left us. You are missed.
The last I bought from Blammer, which was some time back he preferred that the transaction took place via his website, which I believe is Blammers Board gas checks.
