Herters lube-sizer

Picked up a Herters lube sizer last trip to the old house (I think it is a #49: looks like a SAECO, uses SAECO dies but doesn't have a top punch. Any idea what top punches they use?

I'll probably move it down the road soon, I'm happy with my current sizing setups. I just have to figure how to describe it so it can become someone else's problem.

It's a good sizer but pretty much a door stop. SAECO dies are slightly smaller than Herter's, they will fit but leak something fierce. The top punch uses a slip in punch but the shank is larger than Lyman or SAECO and compatible with nothing else. It is large enough that a SAECO thread adapter or a Lyman slip in could be made.
I have Cramer, Saeco and Herter's sizers if you need measurements.

I have one of those I bought about 55 years ago. I can't remember which top punches I used but I am sure it was either lyman or saeco.

Let's be careful here. Herter's made two sizing presses. At first glance they appear identical, but they are not. The innards are different, one model uses Lyman style dies, Lyman may work or leak too much, and will accept Lyman top punches.

Thanks. I think I'll just strip this for the SAECO sizing die and toss the rest on the scrap pile.

I'll send you freight for the door stop if nothing else for pins , rods , and levers if there's anything that will work with the other one it appears I have . It needs some wear parts that aren't any big deal but I'd rather have them than make them .

I have a couple of these and a few sizer dies. We had a pretty good thread about them back in April. Please don't just throw it away.

I grew up on farms/around farmers: nothing is ever completely thrown away. They get "reserved for parts". That's my excuse for having so many loading presses too! I'm trying to get to the point I can fit it all on an 8' bench. Just realized I forgot the C-H progressive. Argh.
