I forgot!!!

IMG_1370.JPG I forgot how laborious using a two cavity mold can be while casting for handgun bullets. Ugh!!!!

A guy can get pretty spoiled using for in six cavity molds for the six shooters!

I do really love the bullet that this
RCBS 45-270-SAA mold drops.
50-50 clip on wheel weights and pure lead mine drop out of the mold at 280 grain's at .454"

I size them to a snug fit in the cylinder throats of my Cimmaron evil Roy 45 colt revolver At .452"

Yep, my only beef w/RCBS is their refusal to offer a 4 or more cavity mold in their handgun calibers.

True, but the twice-bangers sure to make purty boolits like Waco's nice pile there.

This is the only mold to date I've shot in this gun. I'm thinking of upgrading to a multi cavity mold because today my brother ordered a Heritage Arms 45 Colt SAA
and a Henry Big Boy in the same caliber. Super jealous of the lever gun! Ugh!!!!!!

I have a 454424 single , I cast about 100 to make a couple of hunts and work up a load . Then I cast another 100 and ordered an NOE 5C copy .

My daughters have decided shooting is cool now . I got a 37 and 62 gr 22 cal 5C moulds .

I hate to run the singles but there are a couple that aren't too bad like the 458193 mostly because 50 of those go a long way in a 45-70 once you have the load .

The Lee 6 cav moulds have spoiled me. I got a 3 cav for my 32 H&R and it seems painful to me.
These are the good old days for moulds. We are fortunate to have the selection we have.

I keep my 32 Winchester and my 8 Mauser both supplied with bullets using only a single cavity non vented ideal mold.
2 cavity's is more than enough.
4 cavity's just makes too many and you gotta store them somewhere.

If a 4 cav makes too many you don't shoot enough! Get lil girl going and she will solve that problem for you.

At large, whereabouts unknown.
Try feeding a .45 automatic with a single-cavity HP mould.....

Ain't that the truth! Even worse (if possible), try the old Ideal hollowbase moulds with the captive base pins. You have to run the mould super hot to keep the base pin hot enough for proper fillout.

Well I fired up the pot again this morning and got some more cast. Ended up with around 700 or so. That should keep us busy for a bit!

Friend of mine sold his 1921 Thompson and wanted to shoot it one last time. Brought it and three three pound coffee cans of reloads. In fifteen or twenty minutes they were all gone.

Cured me of wanting a full auto. :)

I sure do love casting with my RCBS 2 cavity molds. Seems like once it’s up to temp it’s hard to make bad bullets.

In love my RCBS 2C molds also. But I'd love them even more if the handgun calibers were 4C.

You use what a got. Like Brad, I am spoiled by 4-5-6 cav
molds. But once in a while have to run a couple hundred
single cav HP molds, just to keep me humble.
