I need an alloy calculator

Bumpo on CB had a really good alloy calculator which was on my computer. Somehow it disappeared. And I can't get it back because I do not have Word on my computer. Has anyone saved a copy that can transfer to my comp. Thanks Kevin

The calculator used Excel, not Word.
I think it will work even if you don't have the software.

I am not a computer guy. Everytime I went to Bumpo's link it wouldn't let me in because of not having Word. I will ask my son to do his magic to get to it again.
He has one of those dream jobs for all gamers. He helps make computer games.

Is this what you are looking for?
This is not mine and I don't remember who sent it to me.
Hope this is not a faux pas by sharing.

I'm smart enough to let Excel do the heavy lifting.

Word and Excel are both part of MS Office. The alloy calculator is a spread sheet run by Excel. OpenOffice.org (I think) does the same things as MS Office Suite and is a free down load.

Some of my alloy blending, I can calculate in my head, but when I start needing to mix three different alloys, I need Bumpo's excel spreadsheet...and generally work backwards. I use openoffice (now part of Apache software).

Keith where do I go to get Open Office? Remember i'm not a computer guy.

Thanks Brad, I would have had to look up the link.

Kevin, I've had zero problems with installing and using Open Office, any difficulty has been my ignorance and not bad code. It's real easy to do most of what people usually need to do. One tip, the default document types are not the same as MS Office. It will open and save in MS Office native formats, no problem with importing/opening, and you can specify a number of different formats when saving, just select the file type when you first SAVE or SAVE AS. If you run into problems I'll be glad to try and help you, I'm sure a lot of other folks would also.
