IDEAL 358395 Hollow Base Wadcutter

I bought this one from a fellow forum member.
The mould arrived today.
I may not get to cast with it today.
I do plan on casting with the mould tomorrow.
I wonder just how old this one is ?

My Dad had a pair of those when I was a little kid.
I remember Him casting from a Potter's Pot. Alternating; one mold on the left and one on the right. Old Colt OP Target - 7 1/2" bbl.

I'll bet you have done your mould rejuvenating magic on that jewel of a relic.
That said, I think you are going to have a lot of fun with it. And Trevor will enjoy it even more so.
Does Trevor cast? (all play and no work, etc.etc.). I saw from one of your Youtube vids that he is now reloading.

That's Trevor's next challenge , Casting.
He is about 90% proficient in his reloading knowledge base.
Casting.........not so much, but he has already said he wanted to cast some bullets and shoot them.

I've done a bit of research on this bullet. " In its day ", the bullet was considered to be a top contender in Bullseye competition.

I should think that hollow base should give it an advantage over other base styles. Single cavity and base pin means bit more trouble and slower to cast though.

I don't imagine it would be good having one of those things heading toward you front side, backside, or sideways. I have an aversion to be shot at. It sort of spoils my mood and really ticks me off. Even if its a miss.
