It's baaaaack!

Unique is used mainly in some of my 9mm & 38 Special loads. Probably, the first smokeless powder, purchased when I started reloading, decades ago. Found better accuracy with 2400 in my 44 Specials. I don't load for 45 ACP, only 45 LC............that usually gets 2400 also.

Funny how you get started with a powder way back when you were a kid. I wish I had a 55 gallon drum of good ol' 700-X. I shot up coffee cans full of .44 mag-light loads of Thompson's 421215 bullet, (the only .44 mould the sport shop had), pushed by 6.2 grains of 700-X in a NM Super Blackhawk. My training Captain and Range Master at the PD had been shooting my bullets for a year before I applied for a job there. He did amazing work with an 8 3/8" Model 29 and my bullets and eventually my reloads.

Doesn't anyone use 2400, rather than Unique? Recoil impulse, IMO, is less with little less pressure and tad more velocity!

That is all that I use for magnum revolver cartridges run at full-tilt velocities.

Shot MANY Keith boolits over 7.0 of 700x. Accurate moderate recoil and very clean. 6.5 of red dot or promo under a Keith is a winner in most .44 mags.

2400 in handguns for me is strictly for the top end loads.
