it's weekend time again.

they do weird stuff sometimes.
she has been wound up all day [well since 5am] and didn't want to listen to anybody for a while there.
she as stealing clothes as my daughter was trying to fold them, bit the boy's foot, completely trashed her toy basket, and beat the poor cat up so much it finally gave up and just laid there.
that was just her stretching exercises.
I finally picked her up and we had a little talk then she bit my thumb and was super struggling to get away so she got a little smack.
her whole attitude instantly changed and she laid right down by me.
I think she is just trying to push her boundary's because she gets like this every few day's.

Probably so. Part of building trust is outlining boundaries and enforcing them as gently as you can get by with. Eventually she'll know all the boundaries and expectations and know she's safe within them. When she knows she's safe, you have implicit trust.

Fiver,
Canines and felines use urine as a territorial marker, to mark their ground and as a means of communication. If you want them to use a certain part of the yard or set an example, "mark the spot" yourself, and they will get the idea real quick. All of my dogs will follow my lead any time we are most anywhere hunting or just out in the yard. In effect they are claiming you, and the ground your marking, as theirs. Just don't mark your truck seat!!

she follows the other dogs lead there.
they go in a spot of the lawn that doesn't grow real well already and is fairly easy to clean up.
I got them started there by doing that about 4 dogs ago.

this one is different, like I say I don't know what happened to her before, she isn't a real huggy kissy type puppy, but will show affection from time to time.

While we were out in the woods back in 1984, I found a full grown Afghan Hound tied to a tree with about three foot of rope.
Vet said he figured he was about two years old.
He had been abused and wouldn't take anything from your hand, not food or anything. He wouldn't play with pull toys and anytime he thought we were being aggressive, he would immediately roll over and submit. Our play was him running at full speed around the yard and me trying to catch him. Sort of a tag game that he would sometime let me win. Lordy, he was fast!
But, he knew I saved him and he would follow me everywhere. Slept by my side of the bed and if I got up in the middle of the night, he got up and followed me.
Sweet and gentle with they wife and daughter, but no question he was mine. Probably the smartest dog I ever owned. I worked with him on his trust issues, but the former abuse left him scarred beyond repair.

Well, I'm glad you found him, Hawk. Sounds like you gave him a nice life, & showed him not everyone is bad.

Sunday morning ours came running out to the smell of bacon frying, then went back to bed. I teased him a little about being a cat, but then saved him a little chunk. I've never had a dog less motivated by food. He is most certainly cuddle motivated, I don't understand it, my wife loves that about him.

two types of dogs,,,,,, food or affection.
you can motivate them either way but one is usually their preference.
Jax is definitely stomach oriented.

it looks like we come to a sort of agreement for a day or two anyway.
she agreed to be good and i agreed to not pop her on the butt, so far that has been working pretty well.
actually I think her middle teeth have finally worked their way in and she doesn't have a constant dull tooth ache.
she discovered the full body mount coyote and bobcat and had no idea what to make out of them.
I told her that's what happened to the last bad dog I had, and she would be a lot cheaper to mount than it was.
she started cutting back on the cat muggings a little too, I think she has an idea that the house cat might get as big as the Bobcat and she isn't taking any chances.

oahh almost forgot the thought for the weekend.
it's still Olympic time and I have been watching for something a big fat guy could do besides rip his pants Curling.
Brad shot down the down hill skiing thing.

however the 2 Man Bobsled relies on weight and gravity and the sled itself is the aerodynamic part.
all they would have to do is build a sled just wide enough to fit down the track, put some runners on the sides, and squeeze a couple of 400 lber's in there.
so the starts would be a little bit on the slow side [hey you can't have everything]
I bet they would make it up with speeds at least 6-7 mph faster in the middle.
the COG would be real low and they wouldn't be scrubbing any speed off in the straightaways.

I want to see a 400 pound guy run and push the sled then hop in quickly. I also want to know the width limitations on the sled to know if they will fit in the sled!

Then again we saw a curler sent home for doping......

Yes, curling

And fiver, if you are talking women's bobsled you need help. I'm not interested in seeing 400 pound men, much less women, in a skin tight suit.

The lack of oxygen is getting to you bro

Nice going Brad. Now I can’t get that image out of my head. I’ll have nightmares!

now she could get that sled moving.
I guess all of them/him/her don't have to be inside the sled?

I seen that doping thing.
Curling? come on.... I see little 90 lb girls out there sliding rocks just fine.
the guy they sent home took a medal airc but he surely didn't look to be juicing, well maybe juicing apples and banana's.
but he wasn't on roids, I'm kind of thinking he got dinged on a THC random.
speaking of which how come they don't let the boarders and ski jumper trick artist half pipe types dope up with a bit of THC before a run.
I really think it should be optional anyway.
the runs would be a lot smoother,, and,,, well more natural for most of them.

They have a standard list of banned substances, it isn't by sport. He was on meldonium, a drug that it seems I should popular with Russian athletes. Maria Sharapova, the tennis player, was banned for a time for testing positive for it.

Imagine that, the Russians doping....

No trouble imagining Russians doping....but in curling? If there is ANY Olympic sport where
physical condition is less important, I can't imagine what it would be. Sliding that rock takes,
what maybe 10-20 lb push max? The itty bitty girls seem to do fine. He probably ate some
Russian biathalon guy's snack food or something, didn't get the coverup agent followup.

Now , THOSE guys are impressive athletes! Imagine skating your brains out for a couple of
kms and then shooting a 1.8" target at 50 meters prone and 4.5" at 50 meters STANDING!!!
I am a pretty decent shot, and I am sure I could hit 4.5" at 50 meters with a rifle pretty well
when rested.....but when your heart is hammering at 150-180 beats per minute?
That sport impresses me.

If you have ever seen the rifles up close, they are very nice, too. Toggle that you just flip
with your finger or thumb. Flick, done. Cool.

it looks like they hold the bolt closed with their thumb when they are shooting.
the Russian in the biathlon could have used a little something that last round, the French guy had to do a penalty circle and he come out of that and caught and barely passed the Russian at the finish [like 5"]

That's my favorite deer hunting method. How I got my second deer this year. Would have been more impressive if they had to drag 200lbs after the shooting part.

See, fiver, fugettabout the plus size bobsled. We can hold a good ole fashioned "run & gun" huntlimpics right here.:p I only know one other guy good at it.

I got the places.
I think it would be best to do a driveathalon with this group, especially including myself.
