Adding to my post above...... These old rounds shot great. The lube was still pliable. The fired barrel condition was fine. I reloaded a cylinder full of fired cases three times and the etching caused no ill effects to the brass other than visible ones.

Beeswax is loaded with all sorts of free fatty acids which become very reactive around things like lead and the copper/zinc in cartridge brass.

Yep, moisture content can play a factor to.

Living in the rust belt teaches a person a little about metal oxidation by default.
