Lee Powder Measure

I ordered a LEE DELUXE PERFECT POWDER MEASURE.
It arrived today.
Took a little bit of time to assemble the measure using the " ratty " instructions that Lee sent.

Once it was assembled and cleaned internally of all traces of oil, it was time to throw some charges.

In the preliminary test, I used :

  • B'Eye
  • Unique
  • 2400
I was VERY IMPRESSED with the repeat ability and consistency of the charges thrown.
$54.00 shipped from Titan.

If you take the time to record the numbers you see below into
your reloading data records, it is very easy on another day to go back
to that same exact powder charge.

You can take a cartridge case and place it under the measure without
a funnel and throw the charge.

Yes, that will be the " litmus test ".
None of my powder measures ( 6 of them ) that I've owned prior to today
will throw Unique very well, the charges thrown will vary 2/10ths or so..... .
This Lee throws Unique about as well as it does B'Eye, " right on the money "
charge after charge.

I shoot a good bit of Unique, so If I don't use the measure for anything else, it
will be a very good powder measure for my Unique plain base rifle loads.

I'm impressed !

You recieved a nice shinny looking measure. I bought mine about 6 months ago, and it came in red paint that is all smudgy. I'm jealouse.
Mine is real acurate, and i use it alot.

Good morning
That is good news about an accurate "Unique" measure. Has the looks of certain "Bench Rest" type measures that feed off the drum and not direct off the reservoir.
Thank you Ben for the fine review... Another Titan Reloading fan here.

I like Titan also, but being as they are in Wisconsin, and I am also, means I have to pay state sales tax. I do order from them form time to time tho.

Slight tangent warning....

I've made quite a few Lyman pistol, powder measure rotors. Not really hard to make?Actually pretty easy....

In no way trying to sidestep any co. efforts but....one of these days,I'd really like to make a powder measure from the ground up...just sayin.

Ben I was confused by your picture. It didn't look like what I knew as Lee's new case activated measure. I just got off of Titan and you have a dispenser that is a cross between the new dispenser and the old "Perfect Powder Disp." And is new to Titans inventory.

I have one of the old all plastic models.
the one you can turn and shut off the flow of powder.
I set it for 24,8grs of 4198 [like in 1990] and have never changed it in all this time.
it has always thrown that exact amount of powder.

I should probably have changed it to 21.8 of H-322 or something long ago.
I don't even remember what I set it at that amount for [7.62X39 maybe?]
the last time I used it was for some 32 Winchester rounds with 170gr cast to duplicate jacketed ammo.
[I think it's actually a bit past]

After Ben's "luck" with Titan's warranty policy I would never buy a single thing from Titan, ever. Pay ten cents more and get whatever Lee gear you like from the big warehouse stores that actually stand behind what they sell.

UP-DATE

I've had my new Lee Powder Measure about 2 months now.
I use it almost every day.
The more I use it, the more I like it.
