Here is a box of factory loaded Remington 357 Maximums.
( I don't think factory ammo is even made anymore )

Here is one of the Remington factory rounds in place for a quick photo.

Thanks Paul,

It is a real nail driver.
A joy to shoot.
I've got a " Chunk of Change " in this one, but I don't regret a penny of it.

Nice the way you set up your bench with all that storage space. But that max is screaming for some real loads lol! I’m hoping to try bullets soon from the Accurate mold I got recently. If I remember correctly they weigh 202 checked and lubed. For the Ruger SRM though. Would love a max rifle. May have to send you some to try out Ben.

gman,

I've already shot some of those " screaming loads ".
The ,357 Max in a rifle is a pretty potent combination .

My goal today was to load some mid-range 357 Mag. loads that would allow me to have some fun at the range with my Ruger # 1 rifle with reduced muzzle blast and recoil.

"Not real fancy, but it works".

YUP. Goes for a lot of my stuff, too.

I really enjoy the little clips from the various members here, please keep them coming!

What sort of velocities does it make in that long barrel? I know that a
.357 Mag should make 1700 or better, but not clear how much more the
Maximum brings to the table.

Nice looking rifle, too.

I think breaking 2 K with a 200 gr. cast bullet in the Max in a rifle barrel is pretty easy to do. See pistol data below.

Wow, that is right in there with the .35 Rem. That should do just great on deer, black bear or
elk.

Bill,

" IF " a man can shoot and place the bullet properly, that load should put some meat on the table.

Keep in mind that my rifle is a 22" barrel with no cylinder gap vs. the 12 " barrel used to develop the load data.

I wonder how much additional velocity I would gain with my 357 Max. in the 22" barrel.
