Loading Cast Bullets in a 7.35 Carcano

I picked up a 7.35 Carcano yesterday for $100 with a decent looking bore. Was wondering if any of you had loaded for one before/and/or shot cast bullets in one. I'm not in a huge rush with this rifle--but figured I would start picking up the necessities gradually throughout this year. Got some used dies ordered for $16 shipped. I need to grab a few En Bloc clips too (they are only about $5 each). Brass is available at Grafs--so I will be looking for advice on a mold if any of you have suggestions.

I have quite a few ,a dozen maybe , where did you find the clips for that ? I missed out when cheaper than dirt had them for like $20 a dozen ....... didn't know I was going to need them .

If it happens to be a tight groove I might have a bullet for you to try .

these are 300-299 groove airc.
loads for cast... well I'd do the old 4895 and work up thing, until it shot or operated or kind of both then mess about with things until I got both.

I ended up ordering a few clips from Numrich for about $5 each. The clips are new production. Supposedly the "factory rounds" used around a 130ish gr bullet at a .299 or .300 diameter?

Yeah, it is the .299-.300 diameter. I already ordered a couple of the NOE bushings for sizing the bullets .300, .301, and .302.

if i liked the thing I would just go to accurates site and draw something up.
by the time you squish the nose and body down that far you just mess them up and they tend to not shoot so well.

It could be modified to fit the gun better, I was just listing it as an example of what Tom has already made. Bump the nose to about .295", cut the GC shank length by 50%, and it would make one helluva paper-patch .30-cal core.

I keep my eyes open for a muffed up rcbs 165 silh. mold.
I would like to have one milled off to try just the nose for a lightweight P/P 308 mold.

I have a 308291 that drops 308 with my "fat" alloy and about 307 with WW . It didn't work for my intent .....it was ok but not where what I wanted to work with and the ideal candidate has left the stables .
