Looking at a new scope, need opinions

I was on Graybeard and saw a post from Optics Planet. They bought out the last (model discontinue) Vortex Viper 1-4x 24 and have them on sale for 329$ from 499$. I called and talked to sales and they said the price is good till they are all gone.
I do have several Vortex Diamondbacks. All bought secondhand. And I like them. But 329 is pushing my budget for a scope.
Does anyone have any experience with Viper models?

I have a Viper PST 1-4x and it has fabulous glass. The illumination has an "off" position between every step in intensity rather than having to crank it all the way.

Viper is up the line a way's.
if you have a diamondback you'll see a difference between them and the Viper in clarity and brightness.

I have a Vortex Viper PST 6x24x50 that I use on my .338 Lapua.
I can see bullet strikes on steel at one mile.
VERY happy with this scope. Nice clear glass for the money.

IMO, 150.00 to 200.00 scopes today more than likely equal
or surpass the optic quality of scopes made just 10-15 years
ago that started in the 5-600.00 category. Technology isn't
all bad.
