I like the nose on the 31-180Q, always wondered whodunnit...the body portions look very familiar though. The straight-tapered noses always worked better for me in rifles with stepped throats (long, parallel freebore and abrupt ball seat angles) such as most .308 sporting rifles.

It is simply the body of the 31-160G (XCB) combined with the nose of the 31-170H which was designed for the 7.62x51 according to the notes. Here is a 5 shot group at 50 yds.

This same bullet in the .308 Win over 10 grs of Unique is simply outstanding. Were I to shoot it faster, I would load 25.5 grs of IMR 4227.

I wish you'd guy's would quit throwing out numbers over 1900 fps. like it's even slightly possible.

Somehow my shooting range isn't limited by that anomaly, maybe it's located in some sort of ethereal vortex that slows down the spin?
