That bullet around 18-1900 fps would be awesome on deer.

I think you're right on that.
The big meplat really appealed to me ( .220 wide )

At 1800 - 1900 fps this one will be a real killer.
I sized and lubed some this afternoon, the bullet with the large single lube groove weighs exactly 210 grains.

My 30-30 Handi Rifle is a great shooting rifle.
I decided to try out the bullet in my " Handi ".
My Handi had to be " throated " when I bought it.
That has worked out well and allowed me to seat heavy for caliber bullets out and keep the gas check inside the case neck.

My load today is 8.5 grs. of Blue Dot with the Accurate 210 HT sized .311" with Wolf Large Pistol Primers.

I don't know the speed.
I shot the same load with the 311290 last trip to the range.
5 in a ragged hole @ 50 yards.

This bullet in my Handi ( no OAL feeding issues like we have with the 94' Win. and Marlin 336 ) transforms my 30-30 into a 303 Sav. of yester-year. The 303 Savage always had a good reputation for killing deer with its 190 gr. bullet in the old Savage Model 99.

Just have to be real careful with a 210 gr. bullet in the 30-30 cartridge case. If you try to use 170 gr., 30-30 load data with this 210 gr. bullet, you'll end up in trouble pretty quick.

Brad,

If I can get this rain to stop, that is exactly what I plan to do. We have had a total of 8.5 " in the last 6 days.
This photo was taken yesterday about 5 miles from my home.

Sorry to see that Ben...but that happens often up here ....drive out on the flats..the fish start bitting, you hit a honey hole of clams...you stop watching the tide....and it all over...

That's nasty though...hope you're up on high ground

Dan,

I'm fine.......

I have a small amount of water in my basement.
That is fairly easy to take care of with my wet/dry vac.

our started like that this late winter.
at first I could just suck the moisture up then it went to every hour on the hour .
I can still canoe from the 200 yd line down to the 300yd targets at the range.
I broke down and rigged in a sump pump in this spring.
there is still a couple of inches of water in the bottom of it, as soon as it dries out some more I'm gonna dig the pump in about 5 inches deeper and hard line it into the drain pipe I put in a couple of years back.

Ben,
Here in central MS no rain yesterday and A slight chance today. Hopefully you will get some dry days too.

Love the look of that bullet. I am starting to think that bullet molds are more addictive to me than the guns. It is getting a little scary, I do not need anymore firearms related addictions!!!!

Malcolm,

I'm knocking on the door of the " Poor House " right now because of guns and bullet moulds.

laughing.
don't get started shooting PITA or ATA events.
just imagine a mold every Wednesday, and another on Sunday, plus the lead to fill them.

I have been fortunate enough to learn one word. NO

I don't buy many moulds or guns. Is there a cure for that?

I am fortunate to have a sideline business of building O scale model railroad cabooses. I convert the payments I receive to "gun money".

The last 2 I finished got me a nice 03a3 and a couple of new molds. I have 7 more under construction now.

Brother_Love;
I grew up one street from a railroad. I can clearly remember Cabooses similar to that WONDERFUL model! Thanks for sharing this...

Ben,
Those bullets certainly look well thought out. Anxious to see the target results! Then, this fall, please don't fail to take pictures of the deer, complete with autopsy photos (we NEED;) to know how the bullet performed (both accuracy and terminal effect)...
