My $25 mould.

I found a used TL314-90-SWC , Lee 6 cav. , mould a few days ago for $25 + shipping.
It needed a bit of attention when it arrived.
One of the things that it needed was a set screw to hold the sprue plate hold down screw in the right place so that I could obtain the kind of pressure on the sprue plate that I wanted while I was casting.

I got lucky on this one , it cast nice round .313" bullets and I like to size this particular bullet to .311".

I wish Lee would install a hold down screw on their screw bolts like other mould manufacturers do , but it seems all of this falls on deaf ears with Lee.

Good fix. Done a bunch of them that way and usually put a tiny puck of copper house wire in the hole to bear on the pivot bolt threads so I can really crank on the set screw without buggaring them.

Yes, Ian

I failed to mention that.
Glad you did.
No need in damaging the screw threads.

I really like the Lee 6 cav moulds. Talk about rain bullets.

After taking the photos, I cast with the mould another hour, in total , around 400 - 500 bullets.

This mould will make me some very accurate ammo.
Talk about a cheap, fun load to train a young shooter with :

You bet Jim,

You can make a big pile in a hurry with this 6 cav.

Ben,
Did you use a filler with that light load? I don't like fillers but I would use them if need be. I use a small tuft of Dacron quilt batting when I do.
Thank you, Malcolm

Ben,
Thank you, I thought I remembered from another post that you did not use fillers. I did years ago but discovered I did not need them.

I also have gotten away from fillers. Used them for a long time, and
never had any problems, but as an extra step if not necessary, not
using fillers saves time in loading.

These will keep me busy for awhile.
LEE , TL314-90-SWC , lubed with Carnuba Blue , sized .311 " and then they were rolled in BLL.
