Or as I have been calling them 9x45's.

I was asked to do a premier the other day, but was unable to meet the time frame. So I made this video to contribute.

I got it because I was a Maxi nut and SO WANTED some kind of repeater in 357 Max.
I was very deflated when I realized what Winchester did. But because of Cast bullets I got it anyhow. Today plenty of bullets can be had.
So I decided to build a upper and put it on a AR. Its had hiccups but works fine now.

Overall. Its just cause im a 35 cal nut. But I do like it.

I'm a 357 Max fan too and desperately wanted a rifle in that caliber.
I'd prefer a lever rifle, but a bolt gun would fill the bill too.
i think i'm just mad winchester didn't simply make the model 94, and one of their lower cost Bolt rifles in the Max, with a proper diameter bullet.

There must be a pool of goof balls that run around American industry with crackpot ideas but great presentations. I can hear it now. "Hey boss, how 'bout we build a cool AR based deer rifle for those States that mandate a straight wall 1.8" cartridge I read about in the Guns&Blammo?"
Boss, "Okay Smithers, what caliber should we make it, good ol' American .30, sorta .30-30 performance in an AR?" "No, how 'bout a 9 m/m that's about .350 and we could call it something cool."

After that clown got fired for the .350 Legend flub he gets a job at Anheuser-Busch and says, "Hey boss, I got and idea for a new ad campaign." "Why don't we..........

For the vast majority of American hunters, it was an answer looking for a question.

That said, been thinking of getting a bolt action in it simply because I think it would make a great cast round and I have several .35 molds that would work, plenty of lead and a lot more small rifle primers than any other type.

Jeez Rich go head and be different.
they make a 40 Legend too and it throws a 215gr. bullet.

my take on the 350 was hey we need to cash in on the 9mm thing... and maybe make it sub sonic somehow.
okay how about we copy this wildcat that's been around for 20 yeas now?
change it a little.

yeah,,, crud this thing doesn't work as a straight wall cartridge, there's nothing to head space on.
let's taper it so the whole thing doesn't just slide down the barrel.

3 months later....
uhhh did you guys know that if we'd have made this in 358 diameter we could sell it as a deer round in the upper midwest?
i know,,, we'll just lie and say it's 38 caliber and that it could possibly be in 358.
not like anyone is gonna measure.

I have an ar ruger,in 350.
The rcbs200 shoots amazing in it!!
I also have shot:
Mp147
358156
358429
358311
358637
All shoot fairly well.
358156 shoots super good, gascheck makes a huge difference in this rifle.
358429,feeds a little funky, sometimes, and dont shoot near as well as the 156,so thats a non issue.

I Saw that arDiscounts, they had some good sale prices and I picked up a couple t-Bone chg handles, a number of pieces parts and on 39$ slick sided Billet upper!!

Time to RE, re build that fugly upper!!
I had my Faxon 350 bbl in a A2 upper and alum tube free float tube, forend that was painted (cerokoted) a "fugly" green color. I just do not like it.

This bbl that has been a problem. I have a couple
Videos pruning and re crowning it... so/so in accuracy and bad/poor reliability in feeding. At least until this last iteration, where I used a bore scope to guaranty port alignment. I also changed out the gas block and I was rewarded with 100% function and lock back using same ammo as before changes.

I gathered my parts and tools, and pulled it apart. I didn't have, could not find, a new gas tube... Grr, so I used existing, but needed to change block. So I used a brand new Faxon gas block. Sometimes these are PIA, sometimes just a inconvenience. I was lucky with latter. :) Using scope again, perfect port alignment and assembly was straightforward. MUCH BETTER feeling!!!!

I choose to keep this on my SCR lower. Meaning low scope
Mounts not typical AR tall mounts.

Pic shows scope in mount as it was on green upper. Not what I have now. Range soon.
