My new haul today

That's how I always used to do it. They didn't care if they were new buckets, they were just as happy to get their old buckets back empty.

A true blessing! I haven't gotten a bucket of wheel weights in 5 years. I used to have to pay 30 bucks a bucket to have some but the place I took my car to get inspected said you need a marker light and I thought "this never works hasn't worked in a long time" so I said sure fix it oh by the way what do you do w your old wheel weights?

They were like oh we have a guy that used to pick them up but their worthless These days.

Showed them my new bullets I was making on my phones pict album and they were like "wow those are nice!!!" Told me get us 3 buckets to replace the buckets we give you then call on a monthly basis to get more

Good job.
I guess I am fortunate enough I don't look for alloy any more. Don't get me wrong, I take what I can get if the price is very right. But, I don't have to search like I did years back. I figure I have a couple of tons of clean alloy, along with several hundred pounds of tin and a large supply of Lino type.
Sounds like a lot, till ya get to shooting heavy 45's and larger.

Yup, when I shoot my 45-70 405 gr at a time I get funny about how many I shoot off

Luckily/fortunately I made a hi tech Bullet trap w ability to grow internally to compensate for Bullet growth

Self-loading .45s chunking 500-plus grains a pop go through an especially obscene amount of bullet metal. Fortunately I am able to recycle my own and have enough to "stock the cycle" well thanks to years of diligent scrounging, dealing, and a few very generous people along the way. Wheel weights are virtually unobtainium in these parts anymore, so finding a shop that will part with them is a blessing indeed. Take care of those guys well! Auto techs are a perpetually hungry lot and enjoy BBQ sandwiches, meat-heavy pizza, extra-large cookies, and beer money. Just sayin'.

After a month of getting ww from my dealer I went back w two buckets and got 2 buckets totalling 2/3 of a complete 5 gal bucket. I think I'll show up every month and just bring them 2 buckets as this is a lot easier humping them into my truck

Didn’t pick up this time for a full month, 5 gallons. Now I got so many buckets in circulation I don’t have to buy any more.

I like having a source

you have to stay on top of them or they will give away your buckets and weights.

Yikes. I think your right.

For years people have been saying each time I’ve stopped they told me “we have a guy”. Guess is if I don’t stop by every 2 weeks they might might just think I walked off.

it was a lot of we got a guy.
and I would point to the bucket and say yeah I'm that guy, that's why I'm here.
