The interior of the bore looks fantastic.
3 groove rifling.
1 - 12 Twist
He rebored a 308 Win. barrel and bored it to 358 Winchester.
$250 shipped back to me total. ( stainless barrels are $250, chome moly is $225 )
Can't wait to get this one to the range ! !

JES sent me a note :

I bet that sucker shoots. Will make for an excellent deer slayer. Paper will fear it too.

I'm hoping to have some fun with this one Brad.
I've got a bazillion .35 cal. moulds.
Brass will be plentiful.
What's not to like ?
This is my 3rd, .358 Win. rifle.

The more I shoot them, the more I like them.

Have never had a bad issue with any of our JES Rebores. But we should have bought stock 5 years ago...

Lol, needless to say i'll be watching for the results with your new .358.
I hope the 360230 feeds well for you, as it's a fantastic all around bullet for the 35 imho. Targets or hunting, it's good to go.

I need to get around to sending my Marlin 30-30 out to grow up into a 38-55!

Had mine done a year ago, I really like it. One of the more popular light loads is 10 gr Unique with a 250 gr bullet. I have a lot of Universal so I use it instead. Very similar load and very accurate in this rifle.

A dandy caliber highly over looked IMHO.
I did one of the savage barrel swaps a couple of years ago. Midway had them on clearance for cheap. We FL sized some 308 brass in the 358 die and loaded up some odds and ends of 35 camber jacketed bullets. Shoot, clean shoot clean etc till the jacketed was gone, 20-30 rounds or so. Grouping nicely @100 to boot and that was with a dozen different designs and weights!
Loaded the fire formed brass with some CB's. It didn't take long for it to get boring. Must have run 100 rounds through that day.
Got a load worked up and it sets waiting to be blooded.
Had to swap the 22-250 barrel back for P dogs a few weeks ago.

Exciting times for sure!!
I can not wait to see your outcome in some fine groups being shot.
Enjoy it and happy shooting :)

I am also thinking of have a reborn done to one of my 06's.
I am thinking 338-06.
I like the 338 caliber for elk hunting but don't really care for the punishing recoil of the large magnums.

Have a great Sunday

Not a single thing wrong with an accurate 338 ! !
That will be a great choice.

I now have my Leupold VX3 , 4.5 - 14, 30 mm tube scope on.
The rifle is bore sighted and ready to head to the range.
This should be a fun rifle ? ? Hope so.
I've got a chunk of change this rifle $$$$$$$
This scope has some great optics !
Not cheap, but none the less great optics.

Ben,
If it shoots as good as it looks it will be worth every penny. It is very purty! You could have made the mistake of spending money on groceries or something, glad the rifle won out!

Ben a question on your scope please.
In the first picture of the scope there is a knob labeled focus. Do you have to adjust the focus by turning the knob like you do for a binocular? How much latitude is there in any setting? I learn something new everyday here.
