Back in the olden days I used Acraglass. There are several new ones available now but I am considering going back to Acraglass. Anyone use anything you think is better? Thanks

I have never used anything other than Acraglas gel. That said, I am no expert on the process. I like getting a known, proven product.

Acra-Glas is fine for most jobs (natural wood stocks in particular), the gel is way better if you're doing a finished stock and want to reduce the mess. If you're building a pillar-bedded rifle or something like M1A recoil lug bedding in a synthetic stock and want something with higher strength in compression, use Devcon liquid steel or Marine Tex grey.

I just use the acra-glass kits too.
they ain't that much and a kit will do a couple of rifles pretty easily.
I think I used a half kit to bed an entire rifle from tang to fore-arm tip, including building up around the magazine box and trigger area.
