I saw that post, would make a great hunting bullet. I don't know if Walt made it, I don't remember what his address was or know the address of NEI now. Glen Fryxell may have that answer if you would like to shoot him a PM.

That looks like a great shooter. I hope you have a 44 lever action to try that in too.

You have cast some by now, haven't you?

Maybe 3 days or so before the mould is in my hands.
I bought the mould from 94Doug in WI. It is in transit right now.
Doug provided the photos last night.
I have a very nice Handi that is super accurate in 44 Mag with a Burris 1.75 - 5 Variable scope
on it. I also have a Super 14 , 44 Mag., T/C with 4 X Redfield scope that I could shoot the bullet out of .
Along with a variety of 44 Mag. Revolvers.

I wonder if all " Handi's " have left hand twist barrels ??????????????

Yep, you are gonna be happy with that mould. Long as it casts big enough it is gonna be a shooter. That HR is gonna eat em right up.

Based on the box, I would say it's almost certain that Walt made that mould. That looks like it should be great hunting bullet!

That box looks like it was from the 80s, before Walt moved NEI up to Oregon, so yes I think that Walt made that mould.

Great,

Many thanks Glen ! !

A dandy and handy looking rifle ben!

I have a grandson that is getting older.
When I bought the rifle, I thought that it might make a good deer rifle for the boy.
Kids who start out ( in my mind ) may very well be better off " safety wise " to have a little break open , single shot, Handi rifle.

If you open it and can see daylight through the barrel, it is safe.
I figure the " Handi " is about as safe a rifle for a young shooter as you can find.
A transfer bar and a safety notch in the hammer.

Easy for a young shooter to get confused and hurt himself or someone else (......or worse )
with a pump, or auto with a magazine. They always say the " unloaded ones " are the ones that will kill you.
