Mine is very similar. Mine run 410-415 depending on alloy. The nose on mine are .340 or so and mine are also a bit longer. If he made it a bit longer with more nose and continued the nose taper to a smaller diameter it would be about identical.

Mine is an old Lee GB for a 460420 plain base. How well do I like it? I don't shoot any other bullet in my 45-70 anymore. Gave away the 350RD mould. The 425 RD, 350 RD from NOE, the Lyman 457122 HP, and my collar button all sit unused.

This bullet took 2 black bears. From the right alloy it will go 1600 fps in my Marlin with no leading.

To make a long story short, you will be very happy with that bullet.

Glad you like one of mine.
Currently, MP just finished a run of these in hollow base/plain base. He should have some left.

Right on. I don't put all that many rounds through that gun so I was thinking a 2 cavity in aluminum. I have two scopes I want to buy as well. Need to keep the cost down.

I have quite a few of your designs. So far I have had no complaints.

This is such a good shooter. The mould never needs preheating. That much lead means a few fills and it is plenty hot!

24 gr of 2400 is the load I shoot most, it will easily put 5 in less than 2 inches at 100 all day long. For bear hunting I used 46 gr of H322, I think that is the load. It went closer to 1625 fps and was a bit harder on me. I keep forgetting it recoils more and the first load in a while I don't hold on tight. Twice I have bled from a scope to the forehead with this rifle.

My Marlin wears a VX-3 1.75-6x. At 1.75 it is like irons but I can use 6 x for load work up.

My only concern about that design is the rather large meplat. Will it feed from the Marlin magazine without catching somewhere on the meplat edge? It may do just fine, but that is what occurred to me when looking at it.

I use the RCBS 405 GC bullet in my Marlin and it feeds very slick and delivers great accuracy. I shot 2400 and 4759 for a velocity of 1.5 - 1.6 K fps. For sights it wears an old Redfield 102. I lube and size my bullets in a .460 die, which barely kissed the side of the bullets which fall from the mold .4595.

I asked Tom about this mold in the marlin. He said he has not had any complaints about feeding issues. I guess I'll find out. :)
