New rifle!

So I picked up a new Savage 12FV in 6.5 CM on a black Friday deal at Cabela's. It has a blind 4 round mag and a heavy 26" tube. After sale price and rebate it was only $219:cool:
It's just been sitting in the safe, tags, stickers and all.

Well, I got my bonus from work so it's time to get this rifle put together! I made some purchases today online. Now that I have decided to pretty much use my Rem 700 .308 as a cast gun, this 6.5 will be my new long range (500-1200 yard) jacketed rifle.

I ordered an SWFA 10x42 SS scope with Mil/Mil adjustments.
SWFA bubble level
Vortex low 30mm rings
SWFA 2" sun shade
Flip up lens caps
EGW 20MOA one piece base
Blackhawk 9"-13" Bipod
Boyd's Pro Varmint stock with adjustable cheek piece (black textured paint) that will probably get a camo paint job.
Hornady 140gr ELD's will be a good place to start. H4350 and IMR 4451 will be the powders I'll try first.
I have 50 pieces of brand new Starline brass with small primer pockets.
I am really considering a Forster Ultra Micrometer seat die.
I have these for my .223, .308, and .338 Lapua and I absolutely LOVE them. Worth every penny.
So I'll show it off in the next week or two depending on how long it takes all this stuff to show up and when I get time to put it together.

Sounds fantastic. I have a RPR 6.5 Creedmoor with a Vortex 6.5 x 24 perched on top and it's a really good shooter, but a heavy gun to be toting around. The 6.5 CM is a great round and I got it basically to pop predators and target shoot. I have way more than $219 in my rifle but I bet you'll get just as good accuracy from yours. Gonna need pics.

Closer to $900 everything sais and done. I have one in .223 already. It shoots 55ge Nosler Varmagedon's and h335 sub half moa at 100 for 5.
I have high hopes for this one too.

You'll love that SWFA I have one on a savage axis 308 and it works well for me at the longer ranges I've taken this little rifle out to. I also put a Boyds varmint stock on this which made the rifle shoot much better.

Looking forward to seeing the progress

Will be watching with interest, Walter. I've had a "thing" for the 6.5 Creedmor since it came out, just not much use for one unfortunately, nowhere to stretch its legs.
