New set of grips on my Smith

My new grips arrived this morning (Pachmayr Gripper Grips ) for my
Smith and Wesson , Model 624 , 6 ", 44 Special.
I realize that not everyone likes synthetic grips on a revolver.
However, I have big hands and firing stiff .44 Specials, these help make my days at the range even more enjoyable. Me not being a purest, these seem to fit my needs well.

Your hands look big enough to use those too! When I was shooting magnums, I used soft grips also (just put the nice wood ones back on when I got home, so no one would see them). It really takes the sting out of the hot loads.

Without trying to sound critical (and probably failing utterly) I find that for precision shooting, rubber grips are a bit too compliant. The "Coke's" made by Culina are hand-filling and correct for precise work. Very pretty 624, by the way. "Not being a purist" - That means you don't insist on pinned barrels? Tch.

I like the pachmeyers too.
I wish I could find a set for my Dan Wesson 44 mag, it wears a set of the horned finger groove grips which are fine, except for the part behind the trigger guard where my middle finger goes.

I have Pachs on my 4" M24 and 4" M624. Not to jump in on Ben but its an N frame, same as the 29/629, but the barrel is more slender than the mag version. I like mine a lot.

My 6" 624, thanks Rick, has Hogue grips now. Not sure if they are better than factory wood or not. If the factory wood had good checkering it would make a difference.

N Frame , Square butt.

thought so... I just haven't handled an N that is real comfortable. Sure right grip would make all the difference. Can almost say the same about a wimpy K frame grip! But maybe it's just that I am so fond of the SAA plowhandle! Like a glove to me!

I really want a true Jordan K/L grip to try. Would love one on my K Mdl 19 - although IT has the only finger grip that I have ever really liked! Think a GP100 44 SPC with a Jordan grip would be killer!
