Just picked up on trade , an old war horse P-14, that shows a lot of wear on the outside, but has a very decent bbl.No pits, and no dark spots. A few passes with a bore brush, and a few patches with copper remover, and it came out pretty nice. Some rust spots, that I will have to clean up, and the stock is strictly an old oil finish, and very dull. Have wanted one to play with for a few years now. When in Zimbobwe, a few years back now, the Govt warden who accompanied us on the hunt carried a sporterized version of a P-14, and was very proud of it. Will shoot it before I tear it down and do a complete and proper cleaning of all parts. Intend to leave it as issue.

You are so right. Have been looking for one for a long time. A 30-30
conversion with that weight would be a potential bug hole shooter.
