NEW, to me, Ruger

I've got to stop going to sites such as Craigslist, Armslist. I wound up with a like NIB Ruger American in .308 yesterday, not a scratch on her. Had a "economy" piece of glass on top (Bushnell); new guncase (Allen) and also included a box of Rem Core Lokt 150gr shells. Seller said he shot a box of shells in her, killed a Deer and put her in the safe.
Got her home and decided to test fire and put a group of 3 on steel @ 50yrds. I didn't have time to tinker with it in terms of cleaning, adjusting the scope, ect. (was almost sunset); I sat down in a chair and used my knee as a steady rest.
Easy to see where they smacked the AR500 plate.
Overall very pleased with the rifle and today I will adjust the eye relief distance and torque all the mounting screws/bolts.
BTW, I got it all for $320. Looks to be one of the best bargains I've ever lucked into.

Inherited a bunch of 308 ammo. No rifle, and no all weather rifle. So I bought the Ruger Am 308. With the economy glass it group 1" or less with two diff factory ammos AND put them within an inch of each other. Never had a rifle do that before... Went ahead and put a good glass on it. LGS said they have seen better accuracy out of the Ruger Ams overall than Mossbergs or Savages. And the price is def right.

I think 'they' are finally figuring out that a good barrel and a decent stock fitment to the action actually makes a rifle shoot well.

What is amazing to me are the uTube vids showcasing how to mod a Ruger American, right down to a mod for the magazine.

Yeah that plus the fact that what their customers "want" is a rifle that shoots well.

Congrats on a new to you rifle. I sure like most of my deals used and happy to.

You made me smile, pic of the group and no rifle!

I have a Ruger American Ranch in 300 BLK. Super fun little rifle. Five shot groups sub one inch at 50 and just over at 100 with cast and little to no load work up.

Gross oversight on my part Bob; she's really a Ruger American, no frills.
