Has anyone used these or should I say tried them. If so what did you think of them?? I have a few ordered for the 243. Do they work better with a softer alloy.
I was thinking of casting a few with linotype, which I know is going to make a larger bullet. I was concerned that the bushings might not work with the harder alloy..Thanks.

I tried them on 308, gave up. You push it one way into the insert, then push the other way to remove it. But the insert doesn't (mine didn't) have an 'entrance' bevel on the second push that makes it very difficult to extract. The set screw in the holder gouges the holder. The NOE is the only nose sizer tool I've tried.

Must be the reason for so many different sizers.. well I'm thinking my bullets are to hard. Thanks

Yes I tried it for my 30:06 with a old Egon < sp, mold I have .l like Mr Popper said didn't seem worth pushing a bullet around that much to me.
I just got a mold that made a smaller nose Dia.

I also tried them. Frustrated I called NOE and spoke with the Swede. He agrees its a bandaid at best. Not a option as a production method.

I dont use and wont buy any more.

Well, from my thinking,if they size down the nose for I better fit I'll be satisfied. I'm not in a hurry to do things at my age,I just want the fit. I'll find out next week when they get here. I the mean time I'll cast up some more of the Lovering ones. I would also like to make their nose a tad smaller so I can seat them a tad longer as well..

From my experience. NOE is a conical tube with exit at desired dia. You push through, the alloy expands at the exit and when pushing back down, tries to resize and gets stuck. IIRC the supplied nose punch bottoms out on the insert. I would recommend lube on the nose when using.

It is not suitable for sizing down much, but the nose sizer can uniform the nose slightly. Clean up mould seams, or iron out high spots.
I have a couple of applications where I find them useful. But it is a very specialized, niche tool.

If you try to size down a full thou, you will find the sizer cuts the lead, and leaves a ring at the front driving band.

I have one NOE nose sizing bushing that I had plans to use on several bore rider bullet I shoot mainly Lee if I ever had any chambering issues after powder coating. The problem never arose and accuracy was fine so I never bothered using it.
