Now I Am Less Senseless Than Last Week

Had glasses since I was 25; mostly for distance. Never failed the DMV vision test. Now, if I have to do fine work like removing splinters or ticks, fine soldering or inspection of machined surfaces, I have to use a loupe.

I have been dealing with hearing loss since I was 18yo. I was playing with oxy/acetylene balloons and had 2 large balloons blow up in my hands. Blew both ear drums out and had rubber melted to my eyes. I had almost 75% loss for a couple years then the holes healed up and I started to get some hearing back.

I am to the point I will have to get hearing aides soon. I have had about 42% loss over the past 20 years. And it is getting worse in the last coupe of years. The old lady can not be in the same room when I am watching TV. It is too loud for her.

Tomme, I've seen chairs with built in speakers on either/both side of the headrest. Also seen people place additional speakers on stands on either or both sides of a chair. Speaker proximity to your ears allows acceptable volume for both of you.

Newer TVs and stereo receivers with blue-tooth capabilities would make that easy to accomplish using blue-tooth speakers.

My hearing aids have the option to use Bluetooth to listen to TV sounds, independent of the TV's volume. However, I find it less of a hassle to use just closed captioning on everything but sports and the news. Plus, we have more than one TV in the house, so that would require multiple adaptors.

My hearing aids have Blue Tooth.
I love it.
They are connected to my phone.
I don`t have a smart TV, but that would be great.
