...and that's without even considering the huge variances in neck thickness and internal volume, shrunken primer pockets, and ratty brass composition. CCI, Speer, and Hornady almost always get recycled and I don't mean back into ammunition.
This right on the heels of Ian's post:
Buy American!

Was this just a matter of timing of the post, or are you saying CCI, Speer, and Hornady brass aren't made in the US? Help me fill in my gaps. I'll be very sad to find out they're importing their brass.

Listen I will take all of that short Colts brass . I have a Schofield that it will trim just fine for .
Not only that but as Schofield it'll feed in the 92s which actual Star line Schofield won't do because of the slightly larger rim .....

Think of me before you scrap it .

I had four pieces. If I stumble into more I'll send it your way, but don't hold your breath because I don't get a lot of free brass anymore.

Ya Ian, range brass has been scarce for the last couple of years with
the exception of 223 and 9 Luger.

Most Hornady brass I've seen has a big logo on the bag that reads "Made in the USA". I think Ric was being appropriately sarcastic.

I solved that one. Bought another 9mil, & have a few 223 projects in the works.

Sure I'll take it .

I had a real racket going out here . The public range was on the edge of the base , the base in the spirit of community , maintained the backers .
Cool job right ? I work in one of the wood shops and built traps for the backs of the 25 yd boards . Mondays or Thursdays I'd pick up and replace . The base had a couple hard core Commanders and a run a muck environ-mental-a-tick , viola' closed range .
No more consolidation of shooting , no more free ride lead , I probably haven't scrounged 100 pieces of range brass close to home in the last 5 yr and no lead .

I have lots of Colts but only a few Schofield and a revolver specifically chambered for it .

I'll even pay freight and something for it , you know until I get up to 4-500 pieces anyway .
