Of your many moulds..............................

I have the Lee 125 with a full ogive and it is simply outstanding in all my .38s. I can see why Ben likes that Accurate version.

Keith, that's a clever conversion you did, one of these days when I get a mini-mill I might steal your idea for a couple of my Accurate moulds. ;)

I copied the idea from somebody else. Unlike HP molds with a doorknob handle that sticks out I can use it with a BP pot. The mass of metal around the base of the pins keep them good and hot. A lot less fumbling around to have the pins stay in the mold.

In my post on this thread, I hope no one got the idea that I got a bad mold from Ben. To the contrary it was my fault the mold was not releasing in the 1 cavity. Today I used it again and I got the same results until I increased the mold temp higher than what I usually cast at. Low and behold both cavities dropped there bullets without any problems.

I have 2 Jerry Barnett .32cal molds, 1 for 1-16 tw and one for 1-14tw, he has been gone for a long time, don't think they can be replaced
also a 323471 that is cut on large blocks with the new thick sprue plate, made for me by Ed Schmidtt of Lyman, he has since passed
these are dear to me, but don't tell the other 40+molds I have

The rare and " one -of-a - kind " moulds are the ones that we all hold onto.

You have some very nice moulds !

I buy sell and trade a lot of stuff, molds and guns included. Some I will keep for a lifetime [probably] are my Ly 358627, 358477 4 Cav., ideal 454424 DC, I have seen and owned a few of these and this one works in the Blackhawk, and two SC 311466 molds that just shoot well. I would really have to be tempted to get rid of the RCBS 32 98 gr SWC and the Saeco 352.

Darn, made me go check the mould drawer. Keep the ones that I need and work, others down the road or the widow gets to find a home. Probably in the trash.

I'm attached to a Lyman 358009, drops great and dimensionally perfect. Very accurate bullet in .358 Win. Also an old 311284 that reliably shoots sub MOA in a pre-'64 M70.

I have a single cavity 323471 and an unmarked Lee 6 cavity 210g RF that drops at .434 that works well in my .44 Magnums. I will never sell either.

I've got a lot of moulds that I would be reluctant to sell, but truth be told, many could be had for a price. But I will name four that I will keep for the rest of my life, no questions asked:

1. Lyman 4-cavity 429421, converted to HP by Erik Ohlen.
2. Lyman 2-cavity 358477, converted to HP by Erik Ohlen.
3. Mountain Molds 300 grain GC-FP for the .44 Magnum and .444 Marlin.
4. NOE 270-469-GC for my 6.5x55 Swedes.

When I jumped into the 300 blackout I jumped pretty hard. As a result I have just about all the Lee 30 caliber bullets and 4 or 5 cavity versions of most of the heavier NOE 30s as well. I need to get serious about picking one good supersonic and one good subsonic option and get rid of the rest. The saying that “the man who only owns one watch always knows what time it is” comes to mind. I have 5 different rifles in 300 Blackout and I doubt I could match up a gun with a box of ammo and have any idea where it shoots or if the AR will cycle. I need to simplify and standardize.

10.4 grains of Reloder 7 under the Lee 230-5R, straight wheel weights, powder coated with Poly powder, sized .309" after coating, seated to 2.238" OAL, sparked with a Tula AR primer will shoot 3 MOA to 200 yards in any Blackout I've tried it in, and cycle any gas system or barrels down to 8", suppressed or unsuppressed. It ain't match ammo in most guns, shoots better in some than others, but is reliable. I can't help you with the full-power loads, haven't messed with those much yet.

would not sell any of my Miha made moulds (30 +) Cramers, Saeco's, Redding's, most of my N.O.E.'s, and my one H&G. I have already sold off most of my Lyman, RCBS moulds.

I am the type of guy where everything I own has a price. I have probably sold more molds than I currently own...that means I have bought more than two times as may molds as I currently own...Yeah, I do buy a lot of molds.

With that said, Itwould be tough for me to sell/giveaway the following molds, cause I'm not sure how I'd replace them?
6 cavity HM² 225-62
4 cavity Geo Hensley 38 Long nose WC
6 cavity RD TLC411-255 RF

I also have a 30 cal HM² mold, I haven't cast with it yet, but if it casts like the 225, I'd have to keep it too.
and also, I have a few older Lee 2 cavity pistol bullet molds (41 195gr SWC, 44 200gr RF, 45 TLTC 240gr), they cast a perfect size and near prefect round bullets...those would probably be tough to duplicate.

Jon, did I sell you that Geo Hensley 38 Long Nose WC mold ? Maybe about 150 gr?
