I tried the straight mineral oil and soap thing too, that's how I ended up with the GEL.
it was actually one of the better micro-wax lubes I tried.

I get your point, Ian, about the .45 ACP being easy on lube, but my test was just to verify that
selection of lube for match loads wasn't going to be stupidly giving anything away in accuracy.
I had zero doubt that they would prevent leading.

Will do some rifle testing, maybe next month. This month is booked up.

when your looking for accuracy or consistency.
just look directly at the Lubes viscosity versus on paper results.
viscosity is nothing more or less than a wax to oil ratio [unless you modify the wax]

simply starting with too much oil and adding more and more wax to the mix will show you where the balance is.
it's generally around 1 tsp of oil to 2 oz's of wax, give or take 10-15%.
