One of my favorite hunting rifles

I think this one is a great hunting rifle.
My 358 Win. built on a VZ-24 Mauser action ( many custom rifle builders say this particular 98' action may be one of the best of the lot ).
It started out life as a 308 Win.
I sent the barreled action to JES to be rebored to 358 Win.
The rifle is a nail driver now. I highly recommend JES reboring.
I put a nice Leupold variable ( with side focus ) on the rifle.
I really like this rifle.
The 358 Win. is a FINE cast bullet cartridge.

Ben, I can't make out whether the barrel is matte blue or one of the new coating materials? Handsome rifle and my favorite caliber.

I'm a huge fan of Paul Mauser's CRF and the Winchester/FN designs which use the same. Nice rifle, Ben.

Did anyone else note the Leupold multi-start thread on the ocular bell? Looks like a five or six start thread.

Ben, if you don't mind my asking... what is the coating and how well are you satisfied? Any details you can supply may help some of us looking into these finishes. Thanks in advance.

A great scope .
Maybe a bit too much scope for my 358, but..............

I don't think so. I'm not real familiar with your hunting grounds but I'm sure the higher magnification could come in handy at some point.
I know it will for me here out west.

Most of my deer hunting is 25 yards - 80 yards.
Of course, there is always that long shot that might present itself.

My barrel is a fluted, stainless steel. I was skeptical about waving the stainless steel barrel around in my deer woods.
I used this. Just be certain that the barrel is 101 % oil free.
I'm very happy with the results.
