Not yet, but I signed up for two years of this and I understand that solid food introduction gives a whole new meaning to unpleasantry.

Our son breast fed for over a year, we would just hold him out at arms length when he passed gas and stool, diapers smelled like rotten buttermilk but easy to clean up. Veggies and grains didn't seem to cause much problems other than more gas, meat is another story. There were times I wanted to cut my nose off. But that passes.

One of the best days we had as parents was when our son was able to get up and get his own Cheerios on a weekend morning so mom and dad could catch a few extra minutes sleep...

My girls undoubtedly saved me a million grey hairs .
Lots of folks won't agree with my means but it worked .
The plan was simple " when you get stupid , and you will , call me I will come get you . I will take your stupid friends home also no questions asked . If your friends who got you stupid don't want to go home I will let their parents know they are with us."
Once with 4 teenagers I went to pickup stupid kids ......when she was home on leave from the Navy .

There were 9 girls that went to Velvet Revolver and I was the backup driver pre-show post show pick up Dad . The girl that drove up in the 2nd car had car trouble . Hawthorne is only 140 miles from Reno and the show was over at like 10 pm so it shouldn't have been a big deal ........ The $20 part and a new belt couldn't be had until 9 or so in the morning ........
So this 38 yo man checks into a Days Inn in 2 adjoining rooms with 9 16-18 yo girls while making calls to their parents ...... What could have possibly gone wrong .....as it turns out nothing .

The oldest girl was all about the ruffles and fancy dresses getting her fussed with every day and primped at every mirror . She was THE girly girls girl . On the first day of kindergarten we get a call from the school . It seems the little boy behind her in class boinged her perfectly curled hair one too many times . Bam black eye , sent home . Poof ! No more prissy girl . I think she was 12-13 before she actually wore a dress again because she wanted to .

The youngest girl always had her own ideas about how stuff should be worn , right from the get go . You could her swaddled up in a bomb proof double blanket hoodie wrap and in 3 min she would have something sticking out and in 10 minutes at least 3 parts sticking out and well on her way to completely unwrapped . She was always just happy to be where ever, doing whatever it was though .

The best of the best of times . Relish every moment . Even when she fills up the chest pocket the car keys are in with bottle back wash . Those moments will be gone and the next thing you know she's selling art or getting out of the Navy after a 6 yr hitch .....

Good stuff RB,I was right there with you, haha.

I was always like....when it comes to daddy protection;"the heck with dad, watch out for the kids"!

Mine all were shooting in diapers. When left on their own....it came down to CHOICE of loads? My oldest at 10 y.o. was a 1911 goober.Meaning,he could comfortably handle a Delta Elite and "cover" his younger/baby bros.He had his own .45 and a Colt DB(Diamondback).....and wasn't the least bashful about using it.He set a std in that way for all the youngins under his watchful eye. It's his daughter....who's been making her mark in bow world. They think it's their duty to do the right thing.

Ian, don't forget that kids can eat up ammo faster than you can and load. Don't let her near a 9mm with 16 round mags. Trust me, 200 rounds doesn't last very long.

I always used to think it was stupid when my parents and inlaws talked about how fast time went by. Now I understand.

That's cuz you let her shoot your 9mm, silly wabbit. First powder burner will be a muzzle-loader, .36-cal rocklock :D After that she can start doing all her brass prep and priming. That is if I can keep her out of the garage....

It's a common theme that time will fly by, I'm not looking forward to that because I'll be 60 when this baby graduates high school. At least I'll have someone to help me stay in shape until then.

HMMM. Baby proofing, teething, terrible twos. Going to Daddy for a cookie after, unbeknownst to Daddy, Mommy already said no.

My youngest just loved to shove "hot wheels" cars, and anything else he could find into the VCR's tape slot. He decided one day that the computer monitor needed cleaning (a CRT). Didn't hurt the monitor, but scrapped the $100+ dual language keyboard that was below and in front of the monitor.

Rule of thumb is to give Mom's body 9 months off to recover from 9 months pregnant. 17 months between my 16 year old and my 17 year old.

I like RBHarters thread. When stationed in Alaska, my daughter cam home a little beat up and crying. Story was two somewhat older girls had womped up on her. I sent her back out, and told her that the next time she was faced with that she was to pick up a stick or club, and go after the two older kids. I got a call the next morning from a Major who said his daughters came home and said that I had told my daughter to hit the two kids, and he did not appreciate it. I asked him what grades his daughters were in, he said second and third grade. I said my daughter was in first grade, and if they came after my kid again, she was to defend herself. Phone got quiet, and he said he would attend to his daughters. Never had another problem like that. Daughter turned out just fine.

If somebody got after 1 of them they had to answer to all 4 . Of course that doesn't mean that if the one getting got deserved it they didn't step back for a minute . Play ground jury of your peers . Probably more even than that is that their friends were an extension of that . Much after the fact I heard about an event that could have been a disaster in a bigger school but with classes in the 40-50s instead of 300 it was self defusing .
I guess little brother was chasing the wrong skirt and the school bully was going to have a piece of him . Which is fine if it had been mono a mono , but , bullies rarely roll like that and this on showed up with 5-6 friends that jumped straight in which drew in the siblings and of course their friends so the friends of the bullies buddies started in .
My oldest girl played JV and varsity football ...........nobody beat up on the jocks and none of the bullies wanted to take the 24 man iron man varsity team to task much less them and the misfits clan .....
Can you imagine half your highschool suspended for fighting ?
Little brother never got the attitude adjustment he should have but he didn't chase any more OPP either .

I found solid friends early on . Having no siblings will do that though .

woa.
RB dropped an OPP...:D

that song was kind of my old crews theme song... it just popped up on the head sets at random times.
you would see everyone on the crew just start bopping around singing it.
hilarious,,, none of them could dance any better than my old butt, none of could rap or sing either, but it didn't stop us.
the best part was when we would be doing stuff with third party contractors,,,,, they of course couldn't hear the music, but they could see 10 guys suddenly break out singing and attempting to dance for no apparent reason.

the only child raising advice I ever give is let them have a personality and always talk to them like they are an adult.
