My friend got this weird phone call today :

__________________________

Heads up.

I just received a call from a man claiming to be from
the State of Alabama Outdoor Hunting and Fishing Department.

He wanted to ask me some questions
and before I gave any information I asked him what the questions were.
He said he wanted to know
1-Do you hunt?
2-Where do you hunt?
3-What rifle(s) do you use to hunt with?
4-How many rifles do you own?
5-Do you have ammunition for them and in what amount?
6-Where did you purchase the rifles and the ammunition?
7-Where do you store your firearms?
8-Do you own any "Assault Rifles"?

Clearly NOT from the state
.....there is no such department.

Who he represents, I do not know.
I just hung up without saying a word.

Nope. All finds of crazy going on. Bottom line they called me, I have no way of knowing who Im speaking with. I am not giving any information.

Most all these organizations will ONLY EVER contact you two ways. US mail and In Person.

I was waiting for the punch line.

Let's hope it was "only" a thug and not an organization.

I saw similar questions on some new patient paperwork recently, I just left it blank.

Only once did I have a doctor ask me if I had guns in the house. I told him I have the entire Constitution in my home, I don't omit any of it.

That phone call was an obvious scam, you'll never know what or who. I get 8-10 scam calls a day, I never answer the phone unless I recognize the name or number. The only ones that leave messages are the ones quite anxious to let me know my extended car warranty is about to expire.

My Dr. asked me as part of my Medicare "Wellness Check" some years ago. I just looked at her and said "you know what I did for a living don't you?" It was right after telling me I should get rid of all the throw rugs in the house. She doesn't even bother with those things anymore.

About 10-12 years ago a nurse at the boys pediatrician office asked if I had guns in the house. I said, wouldn't a more relevant question be, do you have a swimming pool or do you have any drugs or poisons in the house?

5 times more children die from accidental drowning than from accidental gunshot wounds.

Required for Medicare "wellness checks", they have to ask. Just like your sex life and "extra curricular " activities.

I had the same line of questioning a few years ago, my answer: NOYFB. I now use a doctor that has manners and minds her own busines.
