raccoons, minimum subsonic loads?

I bet it does. I still have a hand full of .38 Specials stuffed with 3F and lubed with very stale beeswax/grizzly fat in my range bag from years ago, just to further annoy the special range snowflakes such as the ones that piss and moan that Bullseye and Felix lube smokes and stinks.

I love the guy with an AK who fires numerous magazines fast with all cases bouncing around my bench. K Hornet and I once had that guy. Musta fired 80-100 rounds in about 5 minutes. You could see the heat radiating off the barrel. The same barrel he grabbed with a bare hand. A bare hand that instantly withdrew from the hot barrel and went to his mouth. I hope it frickin blistered!

I mis-remembered Jim Taylor's load. The other day, I tried some of the load mentioned above and was only getting about 150 fps and left a bullet stuck in the barrel. I have contacted Jim for clarification and am working on a next batch of "silent .38 loads". I will report back.....

Shot some hornady 100 half jacket in 10" BO pistol yesterday with 5gr cfe pistol. Like a loud cork popgun, muffs on. Got a couple hundred few years ago, put them to use now. Might be looking for another mould. Target looks bad@25 yds but no tipping. Marked holes are HJ, others are 145 cast @ ~ 1900 fps so I assume time in barrel gave me the lousy accuracy. Leaning over the bench with bare barrel resting on front stand. Couldn't find any BO sub load so I was trying for safe load.

well, we didn't see any raccoons that night--it was really windy. But we saw a skunk and got rid of that. Stinky, but glad we were upwind :) Just used some light weight soft cast bullets powder coated in the 300 blackout single shot pistol and a suppressor. Very quiet.
