Gents, finally got around to trying out the woodsmaster on Sunday... lee 312-155 sized at 309... 3031 powder at 80% max load...

This pogo stick is really fun to shoot! Need to dial in with Rel 7 next and rcbs 30-180... might need to get the side mounted scope back on there...

Good Morning
Those old "trombone Remingtons" have always interested me. Looks like your's wants to shoot !
Another fan of the RCBS 180 FN. That is our go to cast in caliber .30.

it doesn't reduce very well.
i tried it in the 303 Brit and a few others with no joy.
a case full in the 223 under a jacketed bullet is a good place for it.

if it shoots cast like that at that speed i'd simply start filling a pile of cases and forget moving on to anything else.

Both the m8 .30 Remington and the m81 .300 Savage that I owned liked the Lee C309150F sized .309” over 3031.
And dropped the fired cases in a neat pile just in front of the bench.
Browning genius at work.

I have no experience with 748 and cast. It is my go too powder for jacketed loads in my .308W, 7x30 Waters and 223/5.56mm. All full throttle loads.

Using 3031 seemed like a good powered load, which cycles well. I'm scooping with a lee set, then trickling in to get the measure happy. Takes a bit longer with the large kernel, vs Rel7, which I'm low on.
