Bella turns five, today. I guess that would be considered middle age. No cake.....she has to watch her girlish figure. Have to make do with pizza crust.

Are you sure you got the date correct? I thought she was born on Oct 4th not the 6th. I think the 4th is a much better birthday for her anyway.

Happy birthday, Bella!!!

Rick please toss her a chunk of steak from me.:)

I would absolutely find life less desirable without a dog.

In the cleaning end of our business we have a saying. Kids & pets keep us in business.

I'm not a dog person either and I prefer briefs?

This is something a guy learns by accident at hunting camp, or is happy to not learn.;)

Not a dog person, sheesh, there's a dog for every personality. Never seen a cat flush/ retrieve pheasant or quail, blood trail a deer, or be so happy to see me they smile. :)

Happy Day Bella! Boxers are my favorite. We have a 12 year old one and had a mostly grown pup, beautiful dog, that got killed on the driveway (read canal bank).

You'll never have a friend that loves you like your dog.
I had (at the same time) a 100 lb. Black Lab and a 125 lb. Akita/Shepard mix, both males and neutered.
They were the most loving dogs I ever had. Always in a good mood and would die fighting for me or any member of the family.
When my daughter was 14, she told me one afternoon after school, someone rang the doorbell and said it was the police. We didn't own cell phones at that time.
When she opened the door it was not the police, but an older teenage boy that she did not know standing on the other side of the glass storm door.
He took one look at the big dogs standing on either side of her and ran.
The boys got rib eyes for dinner that night.

and even neutered, there were still occasions when they would test me to see who the alpha male of the house was.
They'd back down quickly, but they had to test every once in a while.
