Ruger mark 2 scope mount

Many years ago I bought a mark 2 NRA commemorative with a Weaver 306 mount and no rear sight. I put a rear sight on it and put the base in my odds and ends box.
Now, I'm thinking I'd like to put a red dot on it and dug up the Weaver base.
It seems a bit sloppy with only the front ring on the receiver and there is a non threaded hole on the other end. I'm thinking there must be a drilled and tapped dovetail blank for that end but I haven't found any images or videos that show that.
Anyone have or had one that can enlighten me?
I tried to attach pics, but they're too large and I have no idea how to change that.

I looked at a couple 306 mounts on that E place. #304697683136 is a complete set with all the parts in a bag. It appears in the bag there is a dovetail piece that I assume is tapped. A large headed screw passes through the base into the threaded hole.
So maybe down in that "Odds and Ends box" is a threaded dovetail with a bolt in it ??

There have been a number of "no gun smith" mounts for the MK Series of Rugers. I likes the rail version made for the bull barrels best.

As Missionary confirms I remember that dovetail as well. Hopefully you can find it.

Thanks guys. That's what made sense to me. Unfortunately, there was no dovetail piece when I got it, as i remember thinking it was a bit flimsy when I bought it.

Have you considered contact Weaver and seeing what help they can offer? Outside of that the Ebay item appears complete.

From what I gather while searching, it appears that this base is discontinued, so I doubt Weaver could help me. Anyhoo, I bought the $25 one on evilbay.

Make sure its not attached to the mount. IE the screw is holding it up inside...

A site blank is easy ta make outta a donor rear site. Then drill & thread is pretty easy.

Good luck

Funny thing about buying this Ruger. It just sat there in a local firearms want ad place for a month or better. Several questions asking about the original rear sight but no offers. It was scratched and one grip was cracked, so obviously not a collector item, just a shooter. I think I paid around $140 for it and a $10 rear sight from numrich made it a bargain in my eyes.
