S&W 422, thoughts?

Looking for thoughts on this pistol... have a local shop, which has one on consignment... already have a 41, and a ruger mk3 for bullseye... but wondering if it might be a fun toy for plinking and carrying when out in the woods... also heard about the ease of using it as a suppressor host.

I have a 6" adjustable sight 422. Bought it ~35 years ago. Trouble free, I can't remember a malfunction that was not ammunition related. Full size but light weight. Perfect for holster carry and plinking. Uses the same magazines as the 41. I used it to teach my wife and children to shoot a pistol, just right for that. Take down is easy compared to the Ruger. I'm very satisfied with it.

I've had two of them.
I bought one new in 1988, 6" barrel, fixed sights, with alloy frame, super lightweight. I bought it for back packing. I recall model number was 622.
I liked it some much, that a few years later I came across another but with SS frame, 6" barrel adj rear sight, at a gunshow, they had been long since discontinued, but this one looked NIB. So I bought. Both were great fun plinking guns.

I have had a 4" 422 for over twenty years too. You need an adaptor for the threading the slide is a barrel Shroud.

They are very light. Can use the 41 magazine too.

I dont use it mych. But its a dandy trail outdoor gun.
