Silicon Pans

If you're making your own lube, you've got to pour the liquid lube into some kind of container to allow it to cool prior to storage.

Of late, I'm really enjoying using silicon pans.
No trouble at all to hold the heat of the liquid lube.
Super flexible.
Very easy to remove once the lube has solidified.
Just grab the edges and roll off of the lube block.

I buy these for $1.00 ea. at " Dollar Tree."
I have about 10 of them.

Bet the clean up easily too.
I have been using disposable foil pans.

I use those same pans Ben, and you're right, super easy to use. Once the lube is solidified, I place the "ingots" into recycled sliced meat plastic tubs.

I wonder if they'll withstand 475°F molten soap lube.
I saw one that said oven safe to 430°. If you had it sitting in some water to stay cool I bet it would work.
For the price it would be worth a test.

Been using the silicone cake pan size for pan lube for years before getting a star. Works pretty slick to just push the bullet right through the lube cake when solidified. Most silicone of good quality is rated to 500 degrees. I got the large ones from a thrift store second hand for a buck or two.

I'm going to get some and try them out if my local store has them. If not, I'm sure the usual on-line suspects will have the same thing. Aluminum foil and baking pans sorta suck except they wick heat very quickly when crash-cooling SL-68B.
