Sometimes the old loads are best.

Do take notice that Alliant (for example) has not seen fit to publish much loading data online for their older powders. There seems to be a big push towards the newer powders that they themselves do not manufacture. Since they lost the contract for Radford Arsenal to BAE they have been working with BAE to continue the manufacture of the old powders like Bullseye, 2400, & Unique, but it doesn't appear that anything solid has been worked out. Anyway, Alliants support for the old powders seems to have waned to a large degree. This probably has something to do with IMR introducing their Alliant "clone" powders. Anyway, you may need to buy books to get the quantity and quality of reloading data we are used to seeing with the Hercules/Alliant powders in the past.

I have noticed that the online data from Alliant is sparse regarding powders like Red Dot in handgun cartridges.
I use my older Lyman manuals more than the new ones as they are a better source of data for those powders.

Some of the Pet Loads data is outdated, but the procedures & conclusions will never be.

You won't regret the purchase Brad. Really some great reading. Imagine Dr. Mann, but with a whole lot of personality. Mr. Waters also had a model '86 40-65 almost identical to mine.
