Suppressed Marlin .30-30

I thought you all might enjoy another video of my latest goings-on, not sure where to put this so I'll stick it here with the other silencer threads, it's sort of a project anyway.

This is the same silencer I used in my other videos and created a thread about here in this section.

Thanks again to "Perfesser" Keith for suggesting a muzzle face alignment point so I could use standard, .30-caliber 5/8" x 24 tpi muzzle threads on a barrel that only measures .644" OD at the muzzle and has a bore .012" off-center.

I said "flat nose", meant to say "flat base"

Fantastic Ian!!! I'm going to get a project like that going as soon as the Hearing Protection Act passes.

That thing is so quiet!!! When I was trying to make the absolute quietest 22 I could, I went with a lever action Ruger 96-22 - to eliminate any chamber noise. Anyhow, I'd be curious to shoot theses two side by side for grins. I'm thinking they'll be darn close.

The .22 will be a little more quiet, but we should check anyway ;)

I'm sure I could make this one even more quiet by dialing back the powder and velocity a couple hundred FPS, but I tend to try to keep my loads as useful as possible. This one should be good on varmints to at least 100 yards. The plan is to powder coat some 170-grain FN bullets and work up a load for those, too.

A Marlin 1894 chambered in .30 Badger would be the berries suppressed, but in the meantime the old 336 is getting it done.

Very cool! Amazingly quiet, esp without all the slamming around of a semiauto action, which we
never knew was loud until we put suppressors on and found out how much thrashing the bolt, carrier
buffer and spring were making.

I would think that the FN would be more effective on game.

And another hoping that the Hearing Protection Act passes.
